kevinb Gasline near tussey - 2008/07/02 10:17 so the gas line expansion has reached tussey. They actually have the trail clear at the top of the ridge where tussey mtn trail crosses, but the bottom of the extention is a bit rough to get across but its not too bad down the gas line to treaster-kettle road.
The other side is a mess, going down towards camp trail. however its not difficult at all to get from "tap trail", the trail that goes down to the left at the end of the ridge trail and curls back to the gas line, to Camp trail. so if you plan on doing a loop including the camp trail, thats the way to hook up with the ridge, via tap trail, if that makes sense.

hodog Re:Gasline near tussey - 2008/07/12 17:18 Just a heads up. Dominion was working on the gasline where the extension comes out. Even though they have a sweet kickbutt road through the middle of the gasline. I don't recommend we ride it. Today we cut over (off the gasline) to the right and took the deer fence down to the road. This is marked by a stump with a rock cairn on it. When we rode past the dozen workmen on Treaster they were friendly. I am not sure if their attitude would have been the same had we buzzed down the gasline. The trees are all gone.

frank Re:Gasline near tussey - 2008/07/13 19:30 When we were out working on the ridge on tuesday, there was a log crane working down near where the camp trail pops out. It looked like something out of DR Suess at a distance, just a big yellow arm moving tree trunks.
And if anyone wants to see what the pipeline operation is going to look like, I passed it on Marshcreek Rd near Yarnell today. Pretty crazy.
