kevinb Blue Knob Trail work - 2008/06/12 13:14 I know this is short notice, but I just got an email from Mark Taylor from LHORBA. He is doing some trail building on the resort side of Blue Knob this saturday, its just learing limbs and deadfall and raking, no chainsaw or benchcutting. They will be riding afterwards. If you've had a desire to check out Blue knob and are willing to do a little work, this would be a great opportunity. Currently the resort side has about 9 miles of single track, its what started out as a race course but was too rocky for all those race weenies so the races died but LHORBA has been working with the resort to keep up the existing trails and expand on them. Its just on the other side of all the state park riding so there is a full day plus of riding potential there. Anyways, if anybody wants more details etc, just let me know and Ill get you in touch with Mark.

kevinb Re:Blue Knob Trail work - 2008/06/13 09:46 well maybe I was a little rough on the racers, but the point is that its great tight rocky single track that the typical rider around here enjoys. and once you ride it you will realize why it never lasted as a race course. It also has the destinction of being the only loop ive ever riden that I actually felt like I went down more than I went up. The first time I rode it I kept waiting for this big climb to get back and it never happend.

mcmbike Re:Blue Knob Trail work - 2008/06/13 17:00 I went for a ride with LHORBA there last year and the trails are really nice. Some of what we have around here mixed in with a lot of big, flat rocks.
